Directing a movie can look easy to the outside observer, but really learning to direct films is no easy task. There is so much more involved in directing than many people realize. I've been making films for years and I can't help but chuckle when people with no filmmaking experience talk to me with unfounded confidence that they could run off and make a movie right now. I've even worked with some people throughout the years who were definitely not up for the task of directing or producing even a modest short film. I've also worked with people who invest a lot of time into learning the craft and art of directing and are wonderful inspirations and encouragement as I continue my own learning and growth journey.
