Speaking at the Mini Maker Faire @ Barnes & Noble

I'm not quite done with Barnes and Noble in Hingham. I've been invited to be part of their 2016 Mini Maker Faire. I will be speaking on Sunday, November 6th, at 11:30am. I'll be sharing about making short films in the digital age, and looking at how short films have evolved. In essence, I'll be presenting an overview of my book, Short Films 2.0. A lot of people love to talk about how digital filmmaking technology has democratized the filmmaking process. But of equal importance is how the development of websites like YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter, Facebook, and many others have led to the rapid evolution of short films into a dramatically different medium than it used to be just a decade ago. I'll be addressing how to take advantages of these changes in order to make more effective short films that engage the new online market. If you're in the Boston South Shore area, I'd love to see you there on Sunday morning. The presentation will last one hour, and then I'll actually be headed back to set since Stories by the River happens to be producing a new short film that very same weekend.
